Serena Williams Stays Focused and Beats Azarenka

It was an amazing day for the No. 1-seeded Serena Williams, as she had an amazing match against Victoria Azarenka in the Wimbledon quarterfinals in London, England.

The No. 23-seeded underdog Azarenka was on fire from the start of the match as she took the first set against Williams.  During the second set, Azarenka went 2-all giving herself a break point against Serena while serving 30-40. The first seeded Williams was on her way to having an upset match, as Victoria had the edge.

Serena Williams remained focused and ended up winning seven games against Azarenka, which was enough to get the second set, 6-2. She built a 3-0 lead during the third set of the match.

The No. 1-seeded Serena Williams would show the fans at Wimbledon why she was the best player in the world for women’s tennis. She earned a 3-6,6-2,6-3 victory against Victoria Azarenka in the quarterfinal match.

Williams is set to face Maria Sharapova in a tremendous semifinal match at Wimbledon. Sharapova had the edge early in her quarterfinal match against CoCo Vandeweghe, before letting a 6-3,5-3 lead get away. She got back on track and would end up winning the match against the rising star.
